Special Issue in “Application of Soft Computing in Water Sciences”

This Research Topic aims to publish a wide range of papers related to soft computing and machine learning applications in water science, hydrological and climate research, hydraulics structure, drought investigations, groundwater resources, water resources quality, and environmental engineering. Besides, This Research Topic will prepare a platform for researchers, soft computing investigators, and technology developers to present the latest numerical and computational modeling studies under the mentioned topics.

The scopes of this research are in detail as follows:

  • Application of data-driven approaches related to hydraulic structures.
  • Hydrological and climatological modeling, either based on prediction or forecasting, using advanced machine learning methods.
  • Application of soft computing in environmental engineering
  • Groundwater science and monitoring 
  • Water and energy advancement coupled with intelligent-based computations.
  • An agricultural investigation based on machine learning models and computer process 

Besides, the most innovative research on the other related topic to the water sciences and energy application could be considered to publish in this journal.

The first submission date: 15 August 2022

The final submission deadline: 15 April 2023 (extended)

The final acceptance deadline (for guest editors): 15 June 2023 (extended)

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper). All papers are refereed through a peer review process.
